The workforce is changing, and the next generation of human capital requires a new way of looking at skills, knowledge and expertise in the workplace, says Dr Annelie Gildenhuys, MD of Ancor Empowerment.

ITWeb's SAP Best People and Talent Forum

More information about the SAP Best People and Talent Forum which takes place on 15 April 2010 at The Radisson Blu, Cape Town is available online here.

Gildenhuys will give a keynote address on changes in the workforce and human capital 2.0 in a free forum being hosted by business management provider SAP and ITWeb. It takes place on 15 April at the Radisson Blu Hotel at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

The forum aims to assist companies in overcoming the skills shortage, and will cover topics such as increasing employee retention; making use of global pools of talent; developing efficient HR operations; and global HR and payroll, which can be applicable to companies at all levels.

As part of her explanation of the human capital 2.0 concept, Gildenhuys will discuss the impact social media and mobile are having on the workplace, and the changes in social behaviour happening as a result.

She says the next generation of human capital will require businesses to come up with a planned corporate change strategy to address the skills gap, and to see to the needs of young talent coming into the workplace.

Also on the programme is an address by SAP Africa's solution manager for human capital management (HCM), Shelley Freeman, who will talk about SAP's HCM solutions for talent management. She says these solutions aim to help businesses forecast, plan and hire the best talent, as well as cultivate the skills of their workforce.

SAP will also demonstrate, in conjunction with Adobe, a variety of solutions that aim to offer complete and integrated education, from end-user to project skills training.

The forum is recommended for anyone involved in HR, IT or training. Attendance is free, but booking ahead is essential.
