PreWorX, local developer of preboot software featured in Novell`s Partner Pavilion at the networking company`s BrainShare 2003 conference held in the US in April. PreWorX will also be part of the South African and European conferences to be held in May and September respectively.
BrainShare is Novell`s annual customer and partner gathering in which the company presents new products, general industry trends in the networking and related fields, and provides the opportunity for IT users and sellers to network and learn what is happening in connected organisations around the globe.
"With 6 000+ paid attendees at BrainShare USA, the opportunity to present PreWorX as it extends its international reach turned out to be a goldmine of opportunities," says PreWorX sales and marketing director, Rhys Taylor.
"Having a place in the Partner Pavilion enabled us to reinforce our current OEM relationship with Novell and build the PreWorX brand among the attendees."
PreWorX has been providing preboot software for inclusion in Novell`s management application, ZENworks for Desktops for a number of years. With 38 million ZEN users around the globe, the potential market- and brand-building opportunity is enormous.
"Additionally, BrainShare 2003 was the perfect venue for PreWorX to introduce and demonstrate its latest preboot software for ZEN users, the Preboot Services Toolkit."
The toolkit extends the current preboot functionality in ZENworks for Desktops by enabling users to create and modify the ZEN boot image; create and edit preboot menus; and control the menus, processes and images in the preboot state from a remote console. Taylor explains that current users do not have this added flexibility, with only one process and a standard menu being available remotely in preboot.
Taylor adds: "BrainShare USA has been described as the premier annual event for Novell partners. With 13% of the attendees in upper management, 30% system administrators and 10% system integrators, we considered the conference the optimal location to launch our new product and demonstrate the efficiencies it delivers to ZEN users."
The time at BrainShare was also used to strengthen ties between the ZENworks team and PreWorX, ensuring the channels of communication and cooperation between Salt Lake City and SA remain open and focused on customer requirements. "The feedback we received will also guide the future development direction of the toolkit," notes Taylor.
South African ZEN users will be able to examine PreWorX `s toolkit for themselves at BrainShare South Africa from 28 to 30 May at the Sandton Convention Centre.
