PRG acquires Davis
Production Resource Group (PRG) has acquired Davis Audio Visual of Denver, reports TVB.
Davis provides AV and computer management services for corporations and association in North American and Europe. The transaction terms were not disclosed.
“Davis' resources and expertise in meetings and convention services, particularly their proprietary presentation and speaker management system, adds depth to our corporate and tradeshow services division and gives us an enhanced presence in the Denver market,” said Scott Hansen, senior VP of PRG.
Dolby beefs up mobile tech
Dolby is upgrading its Dolby Mobile post-processing audio technology for cellphones with the addition of Dolby Digital Plus surround-sound decoding and two-channel Dolby Pulse (HE AAC) decoding, says Twice.
The inclusion of Dolby Digital Plus will support new handsets expected to arrive in the US and Europe "in the very near future," said marketing director Rolf Schmitz in making the announcement at the Mobile World Congress trade show.
Like before, Dolby Mobile post processing delivers a surround-sound experience through any headphone pair. It also continues to up-mix mono to stereo, up-mix stereo to 5.1-channel surround, and enhanced bass response and clarity.
AV Planners heads to Salt Lake City
AV Planners, an audio-visual installation firm headquartered in Los Angeles, will now offer audio-visual installation, digital signage roll-outs, and video conferencing installations in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to TechWhack.
