Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider, has expanded its PRIMERGY server line with the announcement of the availability of two new PRIMERGY server models: the RX330 S1 and Econel 230R S1 rack servers.
Both form factors are based on latest AMD Opteron Dual Socket processor technology. With the compact and cost-efficient design, the two new PRIMERGY servers are excellently suited for SMEs, midmarket companies as well as for Internet service providers and application service providers.
The proven PRIMERGY Server Management tool enables the customer to monitor and control the servers in a simplified way. These new models will be available from May 2007.
PRIMERGY RX330 S1
"The RX330 S1 balances top-level performance, required availability and tightened IT budgets," said Gareth Hale, PRIMERGY Product Manager at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Redundant components ensure the constant availability of applications."
More performance, more storage capacity and optimised virtualisation, depending on the usage, enable the PRIMERGY RX330 S1 to be used either as a standalone server or in server farms. Furthermore, the server has very wide scaling, ranging from redundant power supply units up to six hard disks. The solid system can be used in a flexible manner and expanded according to the customer's requirements, as it is already prepared for the next AMD Quad-Core Generation.
Key features RX330 S1
* Up to two Dual-Core AMD Opteron processors of the 2000 series up to 2.8GHz (ready for new generation Quad-Core)
* Up to six hot-plug SATA or SAS 3.5 inch hard disk drives for highest throughput

The PRIMERGY Econel 230R S1 is the first PRIMERGY Econel rack server. It is designed as an entry-level server and delivers business class performance and scalability at an economy budget. Dual-Core technology and compilation with market quality standards fulfil standard application requirements.
Also the PRIMERGY Econel 230R S1 offers sufficient local storage capacity to be used as a standalone application server, ie for customers with 19-inch rack focus, with a demand for dedicated application servers as well as for Web and Windows Terminal servers.
