Business printer specialist Oki has introduced a new dimension to printer management with PrintSuperVision. This new, highly efficient management tool is now available from Printacom, a division of the MB Technologies Group.
"PrintSuperVision provides a wealth of printer management functions to IT managers, systems administrators and users, to assist in the day-to-day support of Oki and other brands of printers," explains Neil Rom, Printacom MD.
Oki promises that PrintSuperVision will reduce printer management time for IS staff which in turn reduces costs and provides a better level of service from printers, thereby increasing staff productivity.
"Being a Web-based utility, administrators can access the system and manage printers from anywhere in the office by using just a Web browser," adds Rom. "The system can be used from anywhere in the world, even over the Internet allowing true remote real-time management."
The easy-to-use interface of PrintSuperVision will provide users with a visual snapshot of their printers` status, available in list, floorplan or map view. Administrators can also set up new printers and change the settings of existing ones. Clever features such as cloning of printer settings from one to many will reduce administrators` workloads.
Customisable Management reports in various file formats can be generated instantly showing such statistics as printer status, daily printer usage, consumables status and total printer costs.
The virtual stock cupboard feature, coupled with the predictive consumable usage function, ensure that the office always has the necessary consumables for replacement on hand.
IS support resources for the printers can be controlled by the use of user level access for key staff to enable them to manage their own printers. The system can be set to alert/e-mail local users when the printers need consumables, media replacement or other attention.
