Printing from SAP (UNIX) made easy

By Global Research Partners
Johannesburg, 11 Sept 2000

Leaf Industries, the sole value-added distributor in Africa for Axis Communications, today announced that through the use of Axis print servers, printing from SAP-based systems, particularly running under UNIX, is now very easy to achieve. This was previously a longstanding issue with many users, and one that couldn`t exploit the unique characteristics of any particular printer.

Through the use of Axis print servers, printing commands emanating from SAP are now able to be intercepted, and amended appropriately to exploit the particular characteristics of the output printer required to be utilised. This could mean the addition to, the amendment of, or the removal of various SAP-originated print commands.

"Since the installation of Axis print servers, we have been able to accommodate many of our users output requirements, which previously just wasn`t possible," commented Deon Smit, chief buyer at NATREF.
