Prism and Net1 have received Competition Commission approval for their merger, earlier than expected.
The result is that the delisting of the Prism share from the JSE is now expected to be moved forward to 4 July, from the previously announced 18 July.
The suspension of the share takes effect on 26 June instead of 10 July.
Prism says in a notice to shareholders that the competition authorities` approval of the deal is unconditional.
The approval means Net1 can go ahead with its purchase of Prism for R1.16 per share, or R686.94 million.
The only outstanding conditions now are the scheme receiving the approval of the High Court and a copy of the court order being registered by the Registrar of Companies.
Prism says the delisting date is based on the assumption that the court will sanction the scheme on 20 June and that the order is registered before 29 June.
The Prism share was trading at 114c on the JSE this morning, up 1c or 0.9% from yesterday`s close.
