Prism stake sold for R8.2m

Prism`s share incentive scheme has acquired 13.63 million shares in the group, amounting to a 2.3% stake.

The acquisition was carried out at a price of 60c a share.

Prism says in an announcement issued on the JSE`s SENS news service that the shares were acquired to cover outstanding options granted to Prism staff.

The group says the pro forma financial effect of the purchase by the share trust on earnings, headline earnings, diluted earnings and diluted headline earnings per share is not material.

However, the acquisition results in a pro forma reduction in net asset value per share at 30 June 2005 to 18.7c from the reported 19.9c.

The tangible net asset value at the same date would be reduced from the reported 18.9c a share to 17.7c a share.

Prism`s share closed at 62c on the JSE yesterday, up 1c or 1.6% from Tuesday`s close. The share was untraded early this morning.
