Research and consulting firm ForgeAhead is preparing for the fourth annual ICT in Government Summit and Networking Forum to be held at the Riverside Hotel in Vanderbijlpark.
The summit, scheduled for 14 to 16 April, will showcase ICT trends, thought leadership case studies and technology solutions relating to Africa`s public sector.
"This vibrant event explores the challenges, opportunities and successes in enhancing public sector delivery with ICT, and also provides an opportunity to network with key individuals in ICT across the African continent," says Pierre Venter, research and consulting director at ForgeAhead.
"Once a year we have the opportunity to experience governments across Africa as well as the ICT industry talking together about appropriate ICT to enhance public service delivery.
"It is an opportunity for all stakeholders to compare notes and identify new ways of improving interaction between government and the citizen," says Venter.
The summit, with the theme "Enhancing public sector service delivery with ICT", will bring together delegates from the public and private sectors across the African continent, tasked with supplying, procuring or implementing solutions in public sector organisations.
A parallel sector workshop will take place on the first day of the summit. The workshop, to be addressed by private and public sector delegates, will cover transport, health, justice, agriculture, revenue, home affairs and social development.
The summit is complemented by the annual ICT in Government Handbook for SA, which will be available in June.
