ProScan Systems, a leader in barcoding, data automation, RFID, wireless networking and mobile technologies, received the award for the 2004 Top Growth Partner in EMEA (118%) at the Intermec Global Partner Conference held in Houston, Texas, during the first week of February this year.
A ProScan team from SA, comprising four members of management, attended the three day conference, where over 1 000 global channel partners were exposed to Intermec`s strategies and product roll-outs for 2005.
According to ProScan`s MD, Andrew Fosbrook, the focus was on Intermec`s RFID strategy, products, and how Intermec is strongly positioned in the marketplace to roll-out RFID applications into all vertical markets.
"2005/6 will be a year of RFID piloting across the world according to the experts," adds Fosbrook.
"Intermec`s other key focus at the conference was on Intermec`s success in retail markets across Europe and the US with large groups, such as Tesco, Sainsbury, Home Depot, to name a few.
"Intermec also gave delegates an insight into products that have been designed and developed specifically for retail applications, as well as the new generation of retail products due for release during 2005," says Fosbrook.
Intermec will soon announce the appointment of a locally appointed retail business development manager to drive this market sector across southern Africa.
ProScan and Intermec will co-host the South African annual partners sales and marketing conference from 13 to 14 April 2005 at Kloppenheim Country Estate, Mpumalanga.
