ProScan Systems, a leader in barcoding and data automation technology, recently introduced the Intermec EasyCoder PM4i barcode industrial printer designed for manufacturing, distribution and warehouse environments where ruggedness and fast throughput are essential for productivity.
The PM4i is a smart printer capable of operating with or without a computer.
Intermec`s Fingerprint technology transforms the printer into a "smart client" capable of executing user-defined programmes. The PM4i can replace computing devices and middleware by its ability to communicate with and even control other industrial/computer devices such as scanners and other printers. The PM4i can act as a programmable logic controller (PLC) running and controlling production line devices and processes.
The PM4i barcode printer is a full-size, 4-inch, 203 or 300-dpi, direct thermal / thermal transfer, programmable printer. Its all-metal construction features a strong metal cast chassis and covers.
With a complete range of connectivity options, the EasyCoder PM4i fits easily in any environment. RS-232 serial and USB interfaces are standard. In addition, the PM4i can be equipped with additional double serial, parallel, Ethernet and industrial interfaces - any two at the same time - plus EasyLAN wireless networking. This means you can use up to five interface ports simultaneously.
The EasyLAN wireless option uses an integrated IEEE 802.11b radio, which provides 128-bit WEP encryption of the information relayed through the network to the printer. Intermec`s wireless technology ensures secure printing and network infrastructure in all environments.
