Prudential Securities signs Global Licence for PFS TraderTools technologies

Johannesburg, 01 Aug 2002

PFS TraderTools LLC (PFS), a leading provider of middleware technology, today announced that it has signed a license agreement with Prudential Financial, Inc, one of the foremost global financial institutions, to utilize PFS`s DS2000 Publish-Subscribe messaging technology as well as their patent pending technologies, Trillian, worldwide.

Mark Mayerfeld Executive VP of Sales at PFS says: "This agreement reflects Prudential`s continuous goal of being technologically advanced and creative in its service of its customers. Recognizing that the web-browser is today`s most common desk type tool, Prudential selected DS2000 and Trillian to deliver streaming real time market prices, calculated FX and money market rates as well as the ability to publish research notes and commentaries.

In today`s cost conscious world, PFS`s technologies eliminate the need for third party distribution systems. Additionally, the fact that developers can easily and cost effectively integrate DS2000 and Trillian into their current systems by delivering any and all streaming market via a standard HTTP protocol directly into a Web browser was extremely attractive to Prudential."

Scott Mehlman, first vice president and manager of technology at Prudential , Inc., a Prudential Financial company, said, "With Trillian and DS2000, we can handle multiple data sources, integrate quickly and scale to many thousands of users. This technology also allows us to stream data through firewalls without requiring our customers to refresh or download."
