Psion Teklogix Europe `tagged` as best innovator in supply chain 2005

Johannesburg, 30 Nov 2005

Psion Teklogix Europe (PTE) was the proud recipient of the `Innovation in Supply Chain` Award during the "European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2005" held in London in mid-November.

According to Pascal Llorca, Director General, Psion Teklogix Europe, the fact that PTE won the `Innovation` section demonstrates the company`s capabilities and know-how in RFID (RFID Service Tags `Same Day` and `3 Day`).

Psion Teklogix and Entertainment UK battled it out in the finals and the judges favoured Psion Teklogix for one specific innovation - the company`s use of RFID tagging as part of the service offering. Psion Teklogix`s `RFID repair service tags` offer numerous benefits to customers` routing systems including improved, shorter and more accurate repair cycles.

PTE was required to go through a full process and were audited in Aix en Provence by a Cap Gemini consultant who concluded that: "It is the first time that I audited a company that makes extensive use of its supply chain as a selling tool."

The ninth `European Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2005` was organised by the European logistics magazine, Logistics Europe, and sponsored by Intermec. Some of the other competitors in different categories included well-known companies such as International Federation Red Cross, Makro, Teckitt Benckiser, Seiko Europe and Ford Land Rover.

"PTE was also short-listed in the `High Tech & Electronics` section along with some of our valued customers including Arrow Electronics, Computacenter AG, and Scribona," says Llorca. In conclusion, Llorca extended a sincere thanks to all who contributed to PTE`s success.
