Psion Teklogix's cutting-edge technology goes mobile

Johannesburg, 20 Nov 2006

Unique as always, Psion Teklogix showcased its comprehensive range of wireless, mobile radio technology solutions by taking the company's own industrial play to Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The Psion Teklogix range is already renowned for quality and accuracy but as Psion Teklogix Country Manager, Raymond Hoy puts it: "We wanted to demonstrate our products in real-time, without subjecting existing and potential customers, to 'death by PowerPoint' and, judging by our audiences, we achieved our goal!"

"The Psion Teklogix team proved to be a talented bunch and very skilfully combined real-time technology with some humour to illustrate the functionality of our technically advanced range of products, including temperature monitoring, RFID and voice technology," explains Hoy.

The Mobile Show toured the country during October and at every venue, several guests were lucky enough to win smashing prizes - an i-Pod as well as a luxury weekend- breakaway for two.

On Wednesday, 11th October, Durbanites attended the mobile show at the Catalina Theatre, while the show was presented at the ICC in Cape Town on Thursday, 19th October. The final performance was staged at the VW Centre Auditorium in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 25th October.

Psion Teklogix, an international mobile computing specialist, is at the forefront of world markets with design, manufacture, installation and support of wireless terminal networks and systems for real-time wireless data transmission and end-to-end network solutions.

"Our mobile 'auditor', which is part of our mobile show demonstration, has a sixth sense of identification and works tirelessly 24/7 to accurately monitor the entire cold chain and will alert customers to temperature fluctuations that may have taken place during transportation. The slightest temperature variation could cause spoilage of temperature sensitive products - not only a high cost factor to the supplier but also detrimental to customer relationships. Voice-Directed Distribution, with a number of benefits, was also well demonstrated by our actors and offers a number of benefits, some of which include speeding up work processes to increase productivity by up to 35%, increasing accuracy by up to 99.99%, reducing operating costs, etc. This is a solution for a wide range of industries and payback is quick with return on investment between six to 12 months," comments Raymond.

Raymond adds that since Psion Teklogix's entry into the local market some five years ago, the company has shown unprecedented growth. "We have enjoyed exceptional success and a number of factors contributed to this achievement - the continued support of our loyal customers and the dedication of a committed Psion Teklogix team," concludes Raymond.

With this mobile show, Psion Teklogix not only demonstrated a product range that is flexible, robust and technologically advanced, but also their skill in rising above the ordinary and doing that unique something to keep their customers in touch with progress in the company's R&D division.
