PSP-3000 released in Japan
Sony's new PSP-3000 will go on sale in Japan on 16 October, featuring an improved screen and better performance, says Digital Trends.
Sony Computer Entertainment announced that the PSP-3000 features a number of improvements, including better performance, a greatly enhanced LCD display that improves video display and is more usable outdoors thanks to a glare-free design, plus a built-in microphone and Skype application.
Other key specs of the PSP remain the same as previous editions: 64MB of internal memory, integrated stereo speakers, 802.11b WiFi wireless connectivity, Memory Stick Duo support, analogue video output, and the read-only UMB drive.
Grand Theft Auto sells 10m units
Take-Two Interactive has released its third quarter fiscal 2008 financial results, revealing $433.8 million net revenue for the quarter, says IGN.
Leading the charge was the Rockstar Games' developed Grand Theft Auto IV, which sold over 10 million units across the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms since its April debut.
Take-Two Interactive posted overall net revenue of over $1.2 billion; up nearly 75% compared to the posting for the same period in the prior year.
Multi-platform controller released
Arcade-In-A-Box has unveiled its latest arcade controller, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Combo Arcade Controller with Windows PC support, reports Gamespy.
This unit allows gamers wide compatibility with consoles of any arcade stick on the market, all without having to worry about adapters and dongles that can get lost.
The Combo Arcade Controller also features 100% backwards compatibility with PS2 and PSX games played on the PlayStation 3.
