Summer Mobile turned to PyroGenesis Software to design and implement a configurable, generic lookup form framework to extend the application processing software for their mobile phone service solution. The Summer Mobile team can now effectively and efficiently update database information with all the latest specials and inclusions at the same pace as the mobile phone industry. The lookup forms designed by PyroGenesis Software (Pty) Ltd allow the user to lookup information in a database other than the current application database and return the results to the application processing system. PyroGenesis has created a smart relationship between the original application software written in C++ and the lookup facility developed in C# and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. A bridge framework was developed in C++ to enable the calling of managed .NET applications from the unmanaged C++ environment. The ease of use and speed with which searches are performed has greatly enhanced the efficiencies of the internal sales team at Summer Mobile.
But the true value is in the generic design of the solution. The generic nature of the lookup form means that Summer Mobile can configure the same core solution to effectively lookup a SQL database for any type of business requirement. For example, Summer Mobile now use the generic lookup component for handset sales, agent management, voice log retrieval, suburb/postal code and bank/branch code lookups, all using the same underlying component, configured for each business requirement.
