Q-KON South Africa, an established satellite network provider and distributor of niche telecommunications products within South Africa, has received the only Gold Award at the 2011 Network Equipment Technologies (NET) Partner Summit Awards.
The awards ceremony was held in Fremont, near San Francisco, in April. It was hosted by NET, a global network equipment manufacturer focused on the delivery of voice over IP (VOIP) gateways, broadband communication and wide area network (WAN) platform solutions, among other products.
Q-KON SA, a distributor of NET-Quintum products in Africa since 2002, received the NET Gold Award in acknowledgement of its sales volume, level of technical support and continuous value-add during the past year - particularly with regard to its distribution of the Tenor, VX and UX VOIP product ranges.
Q-KON SA is well positioned to leverage off the NET unified communication (UC) strategies and their close relationship with Microsoft to add value to the local converged unified messaging and UC markets.
NET-Quintum's intelligent VOIP switches and gateways are ideally suited to moving TDM PBX's onto IP, or for converged communications applications. There is now also a growing demand in the local market for the newly released UX product range for Microsoft Lync deployments as an enhanced gateway, or SBA.
Q-KON SA offers NET certified engineers for pre- and post-sales support, large stock holding, a local product repair centre, as well as a national installation and support capability. This covers tier 1 and tier 2 support directly to clients.
Tjaart de Wet, Managing Director at Q-KON SA, said the recognition reinforces the company's position as a value-added distributor, and will strengthen its ongoing service delivery.
“It is important for us that the recognition will result in direct benefits for our clients. For example, NET is planning to release the next model in the UX range from October onwards. Our customers are able to influence the roadmap, and will already have access to pre-production units in August,” de Wet adds.
Management at Q-KON SA is adamant that the award and recognition be shared with its client base.
