QAD introduces new QAD Total eCommerce Solution

Johannesburg, 17 Oct 2005

The recently announced global strategic partnership between QAD and multi-enterprise collaboration company, Sterling Commerce, allows QAD to now offer global manufacturers the QAD Total eCommerce Solution, a set of software and services for consistent implementation of business-to-business integration worldwide. Pre-configured to work together, the e-commerce solution provides implementation services and support from QAD in implementing QAD and Sterling technology to accelerate deployment and time-to-value.

The QAD Total eCommerce Solution builds upon QAD`s existing enterprise solutions, including MFG/PRO and EDI eCommerce, and includes industry-focused, professional services from the EDI business practice within QAD Global Services. As part of the QAD Total eCommerce Solution, QAD will resell Sterling Commerce`s Gentran Integration Suite (GIS), a complete B2B suite for multi-enterprise collaboration that enables companies to extend their business and supply chain processes to partners around the globe. The end-to-end solution consists of capabilities that include communications, translation, application integration, business process management and business activity management.

"It is imperative that companies align themselves with partners that are committed to not only manufacturing excellence, but innovative solutions that help them collaborate with global trading partners," said Wade Gomes, managing director of QAD South Africa. "QAD`s B2B solutions, coupled with their understanding of the global market, allow organisations to quickly enable communication with customers, both domestically and internationally, while planning and executing production in their integrated facilities."

QAD and Sterling Commerce already provide solutions to mutual customers, such as SanDisk Corporation, and QAD has gained expertise configuring its solutions in conjunction with Sterling Commerce technology for optimal set-up and functionality in an integrated e-commerce platform.

SanDisk, supplier of flash memory data storage card products, relies on QAD MFG/PRO enterprise software and Sterling Commerce GIS to ensure fast, accurate e-commerce with its business partners, thoughout the world. "Like SanDisk, most multi-national manufacturers are challenged to balance standardisation of process with sensitivity to local operating requirements," said Pamela Lopker, president and founder of QAD. "We are pleased to partner with Sterling Commerce, as the leader in multi-enterprise collaboration, and now can offer customers a packaged solution to address this issue in our customers` implementation of EDI and e-commerce. The QAD Total eCommerce Solution leverages our history of working with Sterling Commerce, and continues our commitment to resolving real-world manufacturing challenges with expertise, products and services."

By providing customers with an integrated offering, QAD and Sterling Commerce enable manufacturers to deploy next generation technology and functionality at a reduced total cost, which will be well-received by manufacturers seeking to improve visibility and collaboration across their trading partner communities.
