
Qatar Bank unveils mobile app
Qatar National Bank has released a mobile banking application for BlackBerry users, reports AME Info.
The mobile banking application is an extension of the bank's eazylife suite of electronic banking services.
Users can review their accounts, credit cards and transaction activity as well as transferring money and paying for utility bills.
Motorola to release iSIM
Motorola is in talks with all Indian telecom service providers to roll out iSIM; a small device that attaches to a SIM card enabling the user to access three other numbers on the same handset, states Business Standard.
Motorola India country head, Subhendu Mohanty, adds: “iSIM is based on a flexible wafer that can be attached to the subscriber's original SIM providing additional services that can be controlled via a SIM tool kit, allowing third-party developers to build applications and services.”
Motorola's iSIM platform can also be used to build applications such as mobile commerce for banking, payment and near field communications and call control.
Egypt drives e-commerce
Middle Eastern e-commerce Website Souq.com has expanded its operations into Egypt, says Zawya.
Omar Soudodi, GM of Souq.com Egypt, says: "We are proud to release Souq.com Egypt; which brings unrivalled e-commerce capabilities to all Egyptians and will serve as an enabler for growth of future Web-based services, helping more Egyptians realise the power of the Internet.”
Souq.com aims to offer an online action service to the Egyptian market as well as electronic payment services.
