QlikView QlikAcademy 2011 doubles turnout of 2010

Quality accreditation boosts market uptake, bolstering channel.

Johannesburg, 31 Oct 2011

QlikView SA welcomed more than twice last year's number of delegates at QlikAcademy 2011 - the business analytics company's third annual channel training and accreditation conference, held from 24 to 26 October, in Gauteng.

MD Davide Hanan says 192 delegates from 36 partner firms registered to receive training, and in some cases, to be honoured at the yearly awards ceremony.

Quality training and certification

Hanan says QlikView continues to focus on quality in accreditation, to push out high-value skills that match the quality of the product. QlikView 10 was recently placed in the Leaders' Quadrant of Gartner's 2011 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence.

For the three days of the conference, the vendor put resellers and integration partners through rigorous certification and refresher training. To qualify as a Certified Partner, candidates must attend QlikAcademy classes, take an online exam and achieve a score of more than 90%. They must also achieve 70% in a practical test involving proposing an appropriate QlikView solution to a theoretical client problem.

Strong growth

As a result of the excellent pre- and post-sales support that QlikView SA has in the field, market demand continues to increase, says Hanan, adding that this has spurred demand for an even stronger channel to help manage the growth.

“We are currently adding one new customer every business day. This means that there is good demand for implementation services. Some of our partners have doubled their staff complement in the last year. We are very pleased indeed, as everybody walks out a winner.”

Honourable delegates

The event honoured three firms at an awards ceremony. Presented by QlikTech's chief operating officer, Les Bonney, awards comprised the following categories:

* Partner of the year
* Outstanding contribution
* Fastest growth

Partner of the year was taken by RIC Consulting. The firm outshone its challengers in the following criteria:

* Knowledge of the product
* Professionalism
* Sales achieved current year
* Continuous growth, both year-on-year and in terms of consultants
* Contribution to QlikView's brand and standing

The award for outstanding contribution was won by EBS for its contribution at one of the large local banks. The award for the fastest growth went to B2IT.

Continued all-round success

“We are pleased that our strategy has benefited the market and our channel. It will feed into continued improvement of our product,” concludes Hanan. “As long as quality continues to be our objective, I believe the all-round success can continue.”
