Qmuzik completed a recent implementation of TalkWyz EVD with Dimension Data in Ethiopia. The key success factor to the implementation was the speed at which the solution was implemented.
Electronic vending distribution (EVD) is the distribution of prepaid vouchers (prepaid pins) electronically to point of distribution devices like credit card terminals and point-of-sale PCs.
According to Akalu Alemu, ETC Manager for Broadband and Internet Services with Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation, the company is very satisfied with the analysis, implementation and training phases of the project. As there are currently no EVD distribution service providers in Ethiopia, ETC had to make use of the fastest possible mechanisms to ensure visibility and availability of prepaid internet products to the general public and especially travelling businessmen and tourists.
The TalkWyz EVD solution is implemented in a configuration that allows formal and informal dealers of prepaid airtime to sell airtime with credit card terminals, PCs and normal mobile phone handsets.
One of the most important factors that the implementation was challenged with is the fact that a lot of PCs currently exist in the rural areas still with older, less reliable versions of the Windows operating system. TalkWyz LITE was therefore developed to accommodate the lack of well maintained point of delivery devices by utilising all the basic available technology in the field without compromising on security and important business processes.
Dimension Data commended the implementation team for the speed and ease of project delivery and will also due to its comprehensive functionality utilise TalkWyz solutions as an important component in its suite of ISP products.
