Quad/Graphics closing two plants
Canadian Business reports.
The commercial printing company, based in Sussex, said the decision to close the plants is part of its plan to integrate operations following the acquisition of Worldcolor in July 2010.
“[The] announcement is another step in our 24-month journey to integrate operations of the combined companies, which will further enhance the efficiency and overall competitiveness of our manufacturing platform,” NewsOK quotes Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics CEO and president, as saying.
According to News On 6, the Quad/Graphics plant, in Stillwater, employs about 240 people. Some of them could lose their jobs because the plant announced it will stop production in May 2012.
The printing plant has had a number of owners since it was built in 1984.
