Wanatel, a licensed national telecommunications services provider, today announced the nationwide availability of a revolutionary product. This product is targeted at SMEs that cannot afford a leased line or a wireless 1/1 link, yet still want to get all the benefits of VOIP and save on their calls without degrading their call quality.
The technology that provides an effective solution is ADSL++. ADSL++, which is based on Vibe technology, improves call quality drastically, while offering greater advantages with fewer hassles, and allows the company to be part of a new generation of online services.
“The 10MB-20MB ADSL circuit to be launched by Telkom is a shared connectivity. With Telkom's ADSL infrastructure, if your personal DSLAM were to become saturated, you may experience call dropping or quality issues on the line. At Wanatel, however, we understand as a business owner you have more important things to worry over, other than dealing with the hassles of low-quality calls. We believe in quality of service; this is the reason for us developing our ADSL++ technology, considerably improving the quality of the calls by creating a VPN tunnel between the client site and our data centre. Therefore, for less than R1 000 for 20 users, the call quality of your calls can be greatly improved, as well as offering a tool to monitor call quality,” says Walter Madzonga, IT Manager of Wanatel.
ADSL for VOIP
* Thirty simultaneous VOIP calls on a 4Meg ADSL, which is why we like to call it ADSL++.
* ADSL++ based on Vibe technology, ensuring crystal clear call quality despite data present on the line.
* How does ADSL++ do this? It works by taking care of QOS directly to Wanatel servers, while reducing latency and jitter. Saving you on calls and enabling you to use an ADSL line instead of a Diginet or point-to-point link.
Why use ADSL++? ADSL should be a connectivity that is ideally suited for linking multiple sites for VOIP and data, and is associated with problems using voice and data over an ADSL network. The majority of the problems faced are usually due to broadband being part of a public or at least shared network.
ADSL++ technology is based on a similar technique to a VPN tunnel, in that you require two routers. One router at each end of a link, in order to take advantage of the system. For the benefit of our customers, we have deployed infrastructure within our environment to enable you to have first-class voice quality.
The infrastructure on both sides allows us to compress your calls, making delivery more secure and reliable!
Kerry Quincey - MD of a 20-seat call centre: "We tried the wireless 1/1 technology, and we never managed to get it to work 100%, not even 20% of the time! Now, since joining Wanatel and their ADSL++, our call quality is crystal clear most of the time. If it is not, Wanatel effectively managed to get us back online quickly. With an uptime of more than 95%, I am really happy with the service I receive from Wanatel. I would definitely recommend it as a cost-effective solution.”
