Quantel, a developer of content creation and delivery systems, released updated solutions at the recent International Broadcasting Conference in Amsterdam.

The company says the latest software release of its Pablo non-linear colour correction and finishing system includes the Cubebuilder facility.

The Cubebuilder allows Pablo users to build, manipulate and apply 3D look-up tables entirely within Pablo, says the company, in order to create and carry a particular look throughout a project.

The Cubebuilder also supports files from Speed Grade for looks which have been completed on set and is also mapped to the Neo panel for ultimate usability, Quantel adds.

According to its local distributor, Questek Broadcast Technology, Quantel also introduced sQ Load, a new application for its sQ server news and sports production systems.

SQ Load, notes Questek, enhances and simplifies file-based workflows, which are rapidly becoming the norm in broadcast production.

The objective when developing sQ Load was to give broadcasters immediate access to all their file-based acquisition media, Questek notes.

Quantel has added three new extensions to the sQ server system architecture: virtualisation, an open model, and Web services, which it says deliver new workflow opportunities. According to Quantel, these extensions simplify the integration and management challenge of file-based operations.

The new capabilities, Quantel explains, are open and inclusive, enabling customers and third parties to build new co-operative workflows using modern IT technologies and standards.
