Quantum Corporation`s DLT and Storage Systems Group`s Snap Division continues to extend its leadership position in the network attached storage (NAS) market with the announcement of three new Snap Servers.
Two new models in the Snap Server 1000 product line offer capacities of 15 GB and 30 GB - ideal for use as a portable file server between locations, personal storage on a network, backup and movement of information to and from service bureaus, and for software downloads or upgrades. The addition of a 60 GB capacity unit to the Snap Server 2000 series (RAID 0, and 1) offers outstanding performance for file serving, desktop and laptop backup, software downloads, and upgrades. The Snap Server 4000 continues to provide 120 GB of storage and RAID 5 in a rack-mountable form factor. The Snap Server series is capable of supporting all major networking platforms including Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, and Novell clients.
According to a recent report published by PC Data, Quantum is the world wide market leader in the workgroup NAS market - projected to reach $ 8.3 billion by the year 2004 - with an 85 percent market share.

Pricing and Availability
Estimated suggested retail pricing for the Snap Server 1000 series with capacities of 15 GB and 30 GB is US$500 and US$800 respectively, Snap Server 2000 series 60 GB at US$1,700 and the Snap Server 4000 120 GB at US$2,999 (local pricing at current exchange rate).
