Global services specialist Quartet says it is poised to deliver a high-value suite of services to its customers. That's the word from new MD Christo Pieters and recently appointed sales and marketing director, Paul Bouchier.
Pieters, who has 20 years' experience in systems and logistics engineering, business development and SAP consultancy, says the company's focus has moved away from pure training and ad hoc consulting towards a more projects-oriented approach.
"Quartet will be supplying intellectual property value to our customers' bottom lines," he says. "The perception was that we were a training specialist with some ad hoc consulting skills. Our real focus now is a more project-oriented approach where we can deliver complete solutions from start to finish."
Quartet provides consultative solutions to the ERP market. Its three main business areas are corporate education, business services and specialist training. According to Bouchier, the company's approach will be three-pronged. "Quartet's focus will be on training, support and consulting," he says.
"Many businesses that have ERP installations use less than 15% to 20% of their potential. What we will be doing is to package our experience in training and support and use that to differentiate our project delivery." Bouchier says one of the ways in which Quartet can assist customers is through proper business process analysis.
"When a business process needs evaluation, you have to ask two questions: Firstly is the process correct? And secondly, is the person involved in the process properly trained? Quartet will be able to answer both of those problems, should they exist, and provide the consulting and training to solve them."
Quartet has offices in Ireland, SA, the US and UK, but also services clients in many other countries including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and recently North America. Sixty-five people are employed globally together with over 85 consulting contractors. The skills among this group of people vary from ERP consultants and trainers, education consultants and project managers, to skilled desktop developers and trainers.
