NAG Magazine has announced the October start date of this year's rAge expo, a popular event for gamers and IT enthusiasts.
Entelect Software and NAG Magazine will host the Entelect 100K Challenge, a gaming tournament that is set to test participants' artificial intelligence-coding skills. According to a statement, the finals will be held at rAge, where the winner of the tournament will walk away with a R100 000 cash prize.
Michael James, editor of NAG Magazine and senior project manager at rAge, says the tournament not only offers a handsome cash prize, but also the prestige of developing the winning code, which could be a great career starter.
In addition, the Sony PlayStation 4 will be unveiled at the expo. "PlayStation will also be showcasing a host of scorching new titles like: BEYOND: Two Souls, The Invizimals and Tearaway," says the statement.
Matrix Warehouse will give away a gaming rig worth R30 000, as well as present its latest gaming hardware; New Warner games will display Lego Marvel Super Heroes and Batman: Arkam Origins; and Megarom will showcase a number of new games.
E-commerce and online marketing firm, Osiris, will also be part of the event, as will a number of computing, gaming and technology retailers.
Expo-goers are encouraged to bring along their CVs, as it could land them a job at Amazon Web Services helping the company develop and support its cloud technologies. Boston Media House will award 10 seats for one of the school's animation short courses, to a total prize value of R70 000.
The rAge expo will take place from 4 to 6 October, at the Coca-Cola Dome, in Johannesburg. Visit the official Web site for more information.
