Rackable unveils new servers
Rackable Systems, the high-density system designer for data centres and Internet service providers, revealed five new servers, ranging from 2U units all the way up to a 9U unit that goes in its shipping container-sized mobile datacentre, says Internet News.
The new designs deliver up to twice the density of existing Rackable Systems servers in the same physical footprint, while reducing power consumption.
Emphasis was placed on increasing local storage and compute density, rather than depending on attached storage or moving data around to process it.
EldoS expands SecureBlackbox
EldoS Corporation released a new family of software for corporate clients, providing security enhancements for business servers, says PR web.
The first product of the family is an adapter and pipeline set for Microsoft BizTalk Server - SecureBlackbox for BizTalk. Customers will receive secure data transfer via SSH, SFTP, FTPS protocols, data encryption and signing by PKI certificates or OpenPGP keys, PDF and XML encryption and digital signing, and use of secure enhanced mail.

Hitachi reveals server line
The Server Systems Group of Hitachi America has introduced its BladeSymphony server line with the latest processor enhancements from Intel, says RTT News.
The upgrades to the system have made the BladeSymphony 1000 with Hitachi's unique Virtage embedded virtualisation technology the highest-performing Itanium blade server available. Hitachi noted that the new servers perform 25% better than the previous versions.
The company said that upgraded blades are currently available for both the BladeSymphony 1000, which can service mission-critical, enterprise-level computing needs while lowering the total cost of ownership, and for the BladeSymphony 320, which simplifies edge-tier and application-tier consolidation.
