Radware delivers on Alteon promise

Radware, a provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, returned the Alteon line with the release of the Alteon 5412 application delivery platform, reports CNNMoney.

Radware's Alteon 5412 was designed to drive performance, productivity, and meet customers' current and next-generation centre network and application needs.

"Offering platform longevity with a five-year support programme, Radware Alteon customers can reduce capital and operational expenditures, making the 5412 a credible long-term application delivery option for global enterprises," says Lucinda Borovick, research vice-president at Datacenter Networks.

Cisco, EMC in cloud collaboration

Cisco and data storage company EMC are collaborating to develop new computers, networking technologies and storage equipment for use with cloud computing, reports EDL consulting.

vBlock Infrastructure Packages, a new line of business computer systems, include servers from Cisco, data storage hardware and software from EMC and server management software from VMware.

Effectively allowing "private clouds" similar to existing cloud computing services that offer software over the Internet, these are limited to a single corporate sever. This enables companies to install and upgrade software and control information from a single control centre.

LaCie intros media server NAS drive

LaCie has introduced the LaCie Network Space 2, a consumer network attached storage (NAS) and media server drive, reports Techworld.

LaCie Network Space 2 combines the performance of a fully-featured NAS solution with a customised user interface, making it as convenient and user-friendly as a USB external hard drive, says LaCie.

The drive is compatible with Mac and PC, offering 1TB of storage through a USB 2.0 host connection in the front of the device. This allows users to connect a USB flash drive, external hard drive or camera and import files automatically without the need of a computer.
