RADWIN (www.radwin.com), a leading provider of advanced wireless broadband solutions, today announced that its WinLink 1000 5.8GHz point to point solutions were chosen and deployed by two major cellular carriers in Latin America for the expansion of the carriers' national networks.
The value of both contracts is estimated at upwards of $1 million for 2007.
"After an extensive competitive evaluation RADWIN's products were selected because they met the carriers' stringent reliability and performance criteria, and because the price of the systems was unmatched," said Eran Kaplan, RADWIN's Vice-President of Sales.
"RADWIN's ultra-robust systems enable these carriers to extend network reach to remote and rural areas extremely fast. The WinLink 1000 sub-6GHz systems complement existing SDH/PDH and leased lines infrastructure by providing cost-effective backhaul solutions for rural and sparsely populated areas, enabling carriers to realise dramatic cost-savings in a short time."
Concluded Kaplan: "We are proud to be selected by these major carriers to play a key role in extending wireless connectivity throughout Latin America. These latest deployments are an important testament to our expertise in wireless, emphasising the reliability and performance of our products."
