RangeGate to exhibit at SAPICS in June

Johannesburg, 02 Jun 2006

RangeGate will exhibit at the Professional Society for Supply Chain Management (SAPICS) exhibition and conference to be held at Sun City for the second year running.

This is the 28th SAPICS conference and exhibition and it runs from 4 to 7 June.

"SAPICS gives us the opportunity to engage extensively with our target market," says Mark Lilje, MD of RangeGate. "Since the attendees are there for four days we have ample time to discuss their issues and our solutions in detail. The show is valuable because we have qualified attendees visiting our stand drawn from the professional SAPICS membership base."

Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni will open the event that sees regular attendance from organisations such as Eskom, Unilever, Engen, Sasol and others.

They will have the opportunity to investigate RangeGate`s systems that leverage mobile technologies to give customers a competitive-edge. In particular, RangeGate will show its warehouse and logistics optimisation systems in combination with its partner Symbol Technologies, which provides mobile front-end hardware.

"Warehouse-Edge substantially enhances an organisation`s ERP or warehouse management systems by optimally linking its operations to back-end systems," says Lilje. "It enables a company to more accurately control all inventory related processes through the use of wireless point-of-control terminals and scanners in conjunction with RangeGate`s intelligent middleware applications.

"Logistics-Edge improves delivery operations by providing full track-and-trace capabilities, combined with electronic signature capture. Customers can accurately control and manage all delivery and collection-related processes through the use of mobile terminals and scanners in conjunction with RangeGate`s intelligent middleware.

"From vehicle load through to delivery, collections and returns management, Logistics-Edge ensures full visibility of assets and operations, dramatically reducing goods lost in transit. By enhancing an organisation`s operation with best-practice processes, customer service is improved and the management of debtor queries substantially simplified," says Lilje.

"We will display in tandem with our partner, Symbol Technologies, because they have the physical product front end behind which we add value," he says.

Lilje and coastal sales manager, Graham Grewcock, along with account managers Samantha Greensmith and Ian McKenzie will host visitors to the stand.

"We expect a good turnout spread over three days and we expect that the people who attend will spend quality time with us," says Lilje.

Attending the many demonstrations that will take place over course of the conference is a highlight for Lilje.

"We learn a lot about the industry in general and engage with potential customers. We generally get a positive response to demos," he says.
