Really Strategies snaps up DocZone.com

Really Strategies has acquired software-as-a-service content management provider, DocZone.com, says WebWire.

Really Strategies claims that the acquisition will complement its RSuite product line.

Bill Trippe, senior analyst at The Gilbane Group, says: “By providing a spectrum of content management deployment and licensing options, Really Strategies enables publishers and technical publishing organisations to select the option that best fits their needs and their budget.”

Open Text gets social

Open Text has released social media software with built-in features of an enterprise content management (ECM) back-end, reports Computerworld.

Open Text Social Media is the latest addition to its ECM suite, which aims to give enterprise users Web 2.0 tools to perform their jobs more effectively.

The software comes with features to let users, through a personal dashboard, build social networks of colleagues, form communities around projects, engage in threaded discussions, blog, and edit and share Microsoft Office documents.

SDL acquires XyEnterprise

SDL has acquired XyEnterprise for the consideration of $14.7 million, adding content management capabilities to SDL's global information management solutions, states CMS Wire.

The deal to acquire XyEnterprise builds on SDL's 2008 acquisition of Trisoft, a provider of component content management systems for technical writing organisations.

SDL will be creating a new business unit, within the company, called SDL XySoft, an integration of SDL TriSoft and XyEnterprise.
