Maxtor Corporation, one of the world`s leading suppliers of information storage solutions, is to partner with Rectron, the JSE-listed computer components and peripherals distributor, for an ambitious marketing plan aimed at the Southern African market.
Maxtor has also concluded a sole distribution agreement with Rectron, in terms of which Rectron will market its line of storage products for desktop computers, network storage, high-performance servers, IEEE 1394 external storage devices and consumer electronics through its dealer and reseller channel, confirms Rectron CEO Mark Lu.
"Maxtor has a reputation as a proven market leader built by providing consistent high-quality products, and service and support for its customers. We are pleased to be associated with a company if its stature and marketplace presence," says Lu.
"Surprisingly, Maxtor has not had a significant presence in SA up to now," adds Lu. "Our relationship will be characterised by aggressive pricing, the launch of a three-year warranty plan and broad-based technical backup and support for end-users."
