South African IT distributor, Rectron Holdings, has experienced a drastic increase in deliveries over the last year thanks to its recent investment in its new building infrastructure and logistical expertise. The company`s new premises in Midrand are currently delivering an average of 500 individual orders on a daily basis in 120km radius from the offices.
Rectron delivers to areas such as Weston, Randfontein, East Rand, Brakpan, JHB North and Pretoria, to name a few, and service as far as the Vaal Triangle.
Says Dean Prinsloo, Operations Director at Rectron: "With the new premises we have eight doors, through which a fleet of 20 vehicles is able to operate every day. The last driver is out the door by 7:30am and all drivers come back for second trips, some even for third trips."
The vehicles are all manned by Rectron employed drivers, and plans are under way to further increase the fleet by another five vehicles before the end of the year. Rectron prides itself on delivering orders placed before 12 noon on the same day, while afternoon orders are delivered promptly the following morning.
Added to this, all orders pass through four checkpoints before being packed to ensure they are dispatched without any error, and to ensure that no time delays occur. Rectron`s delivery vehicles are loaded and dispatched by 7.30 every morning, and deliver until 17.00 every evening.
According to Prinsloo, one of the factors driving Rectron`s efficiency and reliability is the working relationship that Rectron has established with its drivers and its staff working in operations, "The frontline staff are the window into the soul of a company.
