Rectron has assisted with the establishment of a mobile computer lab at Siyakhula Foundation's new branch in Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion. This follows Rectron's donation last year to Siyakhula's Diepsloot computer lab.

According to the distributor of computers, peripherals and accessories, the equipment donated includes 20 high-performing laptops, of which 10 will be used at Siyakhula's Olievenhoutbosch branch and 10 at the Diepsloot branch. Both labs are geared for end-user computing, by providing much-needed computer literacy training for individuals in the communities, Rectron says.

Siyakhula's main focus is on education and enablement - offering affordable and high-quality computer literacy training, through corporate IT training partner LGIT Smart Solutions.

"Our main goal is to eliminate the high levels of computer illiteracy in South Africa, so that students are able to access better opportunities," says Natascha Pr"ussen, MD of LGIT Smart Solutions.

"We'd like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Rectron for their donation and continued contribution to Siyakhula's various branches. Through their generosity, Siyakhula is able to uplift and communities on a daily basis - by ultimately expanding employment opportunities for its students."

Rectron's HR specialist, Avina Maharaj, states the company is delighted to be donating to an organisation that invests so much into previously disadvantaged communities in SA.

"Through Siyakhula's trusted track record of enabling and uplifting local communities with computer literacy, we know that these mobile computer labs will make a difference to many locals seeking computer literacy and training."

She notes that, through these labs, Siyakhula is set to educate and change the lives of many members of the communities within Olievenhoutbosch and Diepsloot.

"We are proud to be associated with Siyakhula, and the work they are doing to bring about education and enablement. We look forward to hearing about the progress and success of these mobile computer labs, as well as deepening our existing relationship with Siyakhula," concludes Maharaj.
