Rectron, an official HP printer and peripheral products distributor in SA, has released the new HP Colour LaserJet 1500 to its channel partners and reseller network.
The new offering, which is targeted at personal users in small offices, non-managed environments in larger firms and at home users, becomes HP`s lowest cost colour laser printer, according to Zandre Rudolph, HP product manager at Rectron.
"The new LaserJet 1500 complements the existing, and larger, LaserJet 2500 in the range," he says. "We are targeting it at users who are looking for exceptional print quality for general office use or short runs of promotional materials.
"It can be networked and boasts such features as a high-speed USB port, a 150MHz processor and 16MB of memory."
According to Rudolph, the printer has one of the smallest footprints in the industry, is lightweight and is supplied complete with toner, which is newly formulated for a wider range of colours.
"A key advantage of the offering is smart `edge control` features developed by HP to smooth the jagged edges often seen on medium-coloured text and graphics," adds Rudolph.
The LaserJet 1500 is compatible with Windows 98, Me, 2000, XP and Mac OS 9.x and higher.
