Local IT distributor, Rectron, has entered into a partnership with AMD whereby Rectron will distribute AMD`s range of desktop and server processors throughout South Africa.
Gaith Kadir, AMD`s Regional Vice-President, Middle East and Africa, cites Rectron`s commitment to the channel in South Africa and the company`s customer-centric approach as the two major factors behind AMD`s decision to enter into an official long-term relationship with Rectron.
"We are excited at this new partnership and believe it will add great value to the South African channel."
He says the synergy between the two companies is clear and that Rectron provides the perfect fit for the AMD partnership. "Rectron understands our business and, like AMD, focuses on providing customers with the right products at the right price at the right time."
He adds: "Rectron also understands the importance of providing the latest innovative products to our customers which gives them the edge in this competitive industry."
Kadir says AMD is serious about South Africa and that the addition of Rectron as a partner is further evidence of AMD`s commitment to the local market. He continues: "It`s all about servicing the customer. This relationship will enhance our local distribution network, enabling AMD to reach more customers, faster."
Michael Hann, Business Manager at Rectron, is optimistic about the future of the partnership between Rectron and AMD and had the following to say: "We are honoured to be partnering with AMD and both companies are fully committed to building a proper channel presence in South Africa.
