Red Hat offers enterprise virtualisation beta

Red Hat says the new offering will enable new capabilities for both server virtualisation and desktop virtualisation use cases, and provide customers with new features and capabilities.

According to Cloud Pro, the beta edition (3.0) has additional features, the KVM hypervisor has been updated with the improvements to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and the management console and the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation Manager.

More administration tools have been added to the latest version as well, such as an embedded reporting engine to aid analysis and a “power user portal” for users creating templates and provisioning new virtualisation managers.

It also features a power user portal that allows end-users to provision virtual machines, define templates and administer their own environments that allows all aspects of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation to be managed and configured programmatically, says CIOL.

It has new multi-level administrative capabilities, new local storage capabilities and an integrated and embedded reporting engine allowing for analysis of historic usage trends and utilisation reports.
