Red-M, a developer of wireless Internet server products and subsidiary of Madge Networks, has won the first Bluetooth Innovation Award at the Bluetooth Congress, held in Monte Carlo this month.
The annual award was judged on a "best in show" basis, with the award recognising the company whose products and services are judged to have made the most innovative contribution to the success of the Bluetooth community.
Ericsson, Toshiba and Red-M were all commended by the judging panel, with Red-M collecting the award as the overall winner from Simon Ellis, chairman of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group`s Marketing Working Group.
The congress saw the first public showcase of Red-M`s new wireless Internet server technology.
"The judges were very impressed with Red-M`s focus on the needs of the end-user, the breadth of the company`s solution and how much Red-M had achieved in a very short period of time," said Ellis.
"We set ourselves the ambitious goal of demonstrating Bluetooth connectivity from a range of mobile devices: from PCs through phones, to illustrate the potential of mobility in the workplace," said Mike Wilson CEO of Red-M.
