RedButton overall winner of VeloCITI business acceleration project

Johannesburg, 09 Nov 2007

For the last nine months RedButton has had the privilege of participating in the VeloCITI business acceleration project. While the benefit of taking part has been a prize in itself, we are ecstatic at being announced as the overall project winner at the recent graduation.

VeloCITI, a project of the Cape IT Initiative (CITI), commenced in early 2007, following a selection process in which a total of 16 companies were chosen. It featured a variety of programmes that in combination acted as powerful business catalyst. These programmes included:

* A series of seminars with associated exercises, culminating in a final exercise that brought together the entire series, the production of a business plan. The series was presented by the experienced Cape Venture Partners (CVP) team.
* Monthly consultations with a business mentor from CVP.
* A competition component involving each company, setting a target to be reached by the end of the project. The targets were based on critical business aspects (eg, revenue) and were set in accordance with performance at the start of the programme.
* Presentations by relevant guest speakers.
* Peer support sessions with guidance from PeerPower.
* The use of the facilities of the Bandwidth Barn.

The effects of the programmes and their associated benefits had a profound effect on our business. VeloCITI truly proved to be the catalyst that has caused our accelerated growth over the last nine months. We have not only grown, but implemented the processes and systems required to ensure superior service to our customers as we grow.

Our sincere gratitude goes to Odette Potter, the driving force behind VeloCITI; and the Bandwidth Barn, CVP for providing great seminars; Andrea B"ohmert for being a fantastic mentor to us; the provincial government of the Western Cape for making VeloCITI possible; Mignon from PeerPower; the Bandwidth Barn staff for making it a great place to have an office; and finally, all the VeloCITI participants for making it such a rich, diverse and valuable programme. Our congratulations and best wishes to the runners-up and all companies who graduated:
