RedLinX Telecoms Systems ventures into Africa

RedLinX Telecoms, one of four divisions within RedLinX and operational since 2007, is now expanding into Africa to offer local emerging and existing operators tailor-made core NGN network solutions. Sean van der Walt, Managing Director at RedLinX and Divisional Manager of RedLinX Telecoms, launched the venture into Africa at the Digital Africa Summit, in Uganda, which took place from 19-22 May 2009, and showcased the RedLinX Telecoms product offerings to summit attendees.

African countries can expect the following product and service offerings from RedLinX Telecoms: consulting, design, implementation and support of infrastructure, equipment, software, and solutions for next-generation networks (NGN), VOIP, video, SMS, fax, multimedia and related value-added solutions.

“We have gained extensive experience locally, and this, coupled with our promise to always provide clients with tailor-made solutions within their budget, makes us ready to offer operators in Africa the solutions they require,” says Van der Walt.

The South African rural telecoms operator model (designed and implemented by RedLinX Telecoms) is well suited for emerging operators in Africa, and this is one of the key projects that RedLinX Telecoms has adapted to the conditions in Africa.

Concludes Van der Walt: “RedLinX Telecoms will target companies in Africa, which seek cost-effective voice NGN core networks for next-generation of IP-based services. Typically, the operators gaining WiMax, CDMA and next-generation type licences will be the major growth focus for the African market into the 2020 vision of most African countries.”
