RedPay, a new electronic payments security (EPSec) consulting company, was launched in Johannesburg late last year. RedPay comprises a number of industry experts and is led by Managing Director Luc de Graeve who is well known in the security industry.
Within a matter of months RedPay has won contracts from a major South African Bank and was appointed by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) to provide various EPSec consulting services.
RedPay has partnered with SensePost to provide the SARB with a comprehensive range of payment and information security services applied to a large payment system project. SensePost is a well-established and respected information security service organisation with a client base worldwide of over 50 corporate clients.
De Graeve says: "We are extremely happy with progress to date, having won contracts from two prestigious South African financial organisations in a matter of months has reinforced our belief in our business model. With the growth in electronic payments of all kinds from the Internet, mobile and physical worlds there is an urgent requirement for an expert team of EPSec specialists who can provide independent and product agnostic consulting services. RedPay offers a range of services including system architecture and design, verification/auditing of existing solutions, RFI/RFP generation, vendor selection, programme management, ad hoc consulting, and training on EPSec-related matters.
The RedPay team comprises of a number of EPSec experts who have been involved worldwide in delivering security solutions in the Internet, mobile and traditional payment arenas. The team is experienced in many payment protocols, and has delivered solutions including Internet and mobile banking and payments, settlement systems, banking branch infrastructure, ATM and POS security, as well as Trusted Centres.
