RedScreen Systems has been appointed an Oracle Partner to service enterprise clients using Virtual Enterprise Platform on Oracle technology.
RedScreen Systems, a South African software development company, today announced its appointment as an Oracle Partner. The move was prompted by some of its enterprise clients using Oracle database and enterprise applications, who require a consolidated view of large volumes of data - a function of RedScreen`s Virtual Enterprise Platform.
Dr. Pierre Mulder, RedScreen Systems founder and CEO says the decision to become an Oracle partner was driven by the fact that RedScreen`s larger clients run Oracle databases and applications. "We have been a specialist Microsoft development and integration house for years, excelling in a number of different vertical and horizontal markets, such as healthcare, manufacturing and financial services."
More recently, RedScreen has been working with some clients in the financial services industry, where there are huge databases comprised of many constituent information sources, often representing different views of the same customer. These clients all work with Oracle database and enterprise applications.
"Our major product in these enterprise environments is the Virtual Enterprise Platform, an engine that consolidates a number of disparate databases in order to offer single informational views - especially single views of customer information, most typically in large banking institutions," explains Dr Mulder. "We can plug other enterprise-facing systems into the engine, such as CRM and Business Intelligence systems, providing integrated real time intelligence.
"When we implement the Virtual Enterprise Platform, we consider the entire technology suite of our clients. Amongst our bigger enterprise clients where there are large volumes of data involved, the Virtual Enterprise Platform acts as a catalyst to the Oracle, Linux and Java world."
Matthew Kibby, Account Manager for financial services at Oracle, says: "RedScreen has made the transition to the Oracle environment in a very accomplished manner. Their work with large banking organisations since July last year, deploying the Virtual Enterprise Platform to assist them with their `Deposit-taking Institutions` reporting for the Reserve Bank, has been innovative and comprehensive, and has integrated well with Oracle9i Database and Oracle E-Business Suite."
Mulder is positive about the way in which RedScreen has interacted with Oracle, both on a technology and skills level. "While our approach to Oracle to become a business partner was driven by client needs, we`ve also benefited in other ways from the partnership. RedScreen is committed to technology and business innovation - our on-site innovation labs, for example, are currently used by one of our large financial services clients as an outsourced resource. Oracle`s sales and support staff understand this and can pass on their skills to our own people. Their sales team in financial services, in particular, has been useful in helping us work in the large enterprise environment, with which they are familiar."
