RelData offers recovery solution

RelData, a provider of consolidated storage solutions that deliver unified iSCSI SAN, NAS and WAN replication from a single virtualised storage platform, has unveiled a cost-effective disaster recovery solution, says Business Wire.

“Enterprises can now easily replicate critical data from any standard storage array in their primary data centre to a cost-effective RelData Unified iSCSI SAN at their remote disaster recovery site,” stated David Hubbard, CEO of RelData.

“RelData's approach to simplified WAN data replication allows customers to leverage their existing storage infrastructure investments at their primary data centre, deploy cost-effective storage at their disaster recovery site, and easily manage the process with RelData's Adaptive Storage Wizards, RELbot task automation and an integrated management console,” he said.

Sun Microsystems has rolled out a discount programme for Australian start-ups hoping to sidestep economic hurdles when setting up new hardware architectures, says Australian IT.

The Sun Startup Essentials Programme offers discounts of up to 65% on Sun products and services to newly established businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Programme participants are eligible for the discounts as long as they have been in business for less than six years or have less than 150 employees.

Eligible start-ups will be able to access a range of hardware and software from Sun. Some of the discounted products on offer include its low-end X86 servers and a range of low-end storage devices. Under the programme, some servers will be offered at under AU$1 000.

DataCore Software, a provider of storage virtualisation software, and Promark Technology, a value-added distributor in the US, have formed a distribution relationship under which Promark Technology will distribute DataCore's open platform storage virtualisation solutions in the US, says Data Storage Connection.
