Remedy announces Ninth Annual User Conference, premiere equivalent in EMEA

Johannesburg, 25 Jul 2001

Remedy, a leading provider of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, today announced that the ninth annual Remedy User Group (RUG) will convene on 31 July through 2 August 2001 in Orlando, Florida.

The success of RUG prompted an equivalent conference for users in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Customers in the EMEA region will meet for the first time at the Remedy User Conference (RUC) in Edinburgh, Scotland, 6 to 8 November 2001.

RUG was established to provide an environment for customers to meet and discuss the scalability and flexibility of Remedy`s Action Request System in addition to the adaptability of the pre-packaged applications. RUG attracts users from around the world each year, and as a result the event has evolved. Part of the evolution of RUG is the creation of RUC, which will serve as a supplement to RUG and will provide a forum for customers in the EMEA region to meet locally to discuss Remedy applications. Both user meetings grant attendees open access to the latest innovations. Customers who participate in RUG 2001 will preview the next generation of Remedy products.

"RUG is the perfect opportunity for a cross-section of customers to come together, share their experiences and learn more about Remedy," said Lori Christian, chief marketing officer for Remedy.

"RUG attendees from IT system managers to CXO level professionals will all benefit from the agenda that includes over 65 customised sessions. We are also excited that an equivalent conference will now be held in our EMEA region."

Remedy customers from around the world will gather at both events to share ideas. Remedy encourages learning by providing direct interaction between customers and Remedy product engineers, support staff and executives.

"I came away with lots of good information and potential new products that integrate with Remedy and would make our lives easier," said Cheryl Kane, business analyst at Manulife Financial, who attended RUG last year.

Since the inception of RUG in 1991 the format of the conference has evolved to accommodate Remedy`s increase in product offerings along with the increase in the number of users attending the event. Customers will formally present the innovative ways they use Remedy solutions in the 12 different product-specific speaking tracks. In addition, private one-on-one customer testimonials will be conducted, enabling existing customers who may purchase other Remedy products to speak with Remedy reference customers.

"Although the demographic and size of the Remedy User Group conference has evolved, our commitment to our customers has remained the same," said Larry Garlick, chairman of the board and CEO of Remedy. "User conferences encourage open dialogue and learning. This format is a positive experience for Remedy customers. We are eager to enhance the overall experience by adding open access to the Remedy key decision-makers at RUG and the first ever RUC in our EMEA region."

Pre-conference tutorials will be provided prior to both conferences. The RUG pre-conference tutorials will be held 29 and 30 July 2001 and the RUC tutorials on 5 and 6 November 2001. Both tutorial agendas include best practices, deployment and customisation techniques.
