The Jabra EasyGo Bluetooth headset is stylish, comfortable, and filters out ambient noise to provide a crystal clear sound.
The headset features an automatic volume control, which keeps volume constant even when moving between quiet and noisy environments. It comes with several sized ear hooks for the most comfortable fit.
The headset works well whether in a busy office, on foot, or driving. It has voice guidance features that tell the user when it needs to be recharged, or if it becomes disconnected from the phone.
I found the sound quality to be clear and distinct - it was able to stand the test of operating across a distance of up to 10 metres from a connected mobile phone. I also found it easy to adjust the volume of the headset during a call.
Jabra EasyGo allows for up to six hours talk time and up to eight days standby time.
Interestingly, the device can simultaneously connect to two Bluetooth-enabled devices. This can be useful to connect to a mobile phone when driving and connecting to an office phone, which can allow for easy switch between the two phones.
It connected to my BlackBerry seamlessly and quickly, and required no initial installation - it's literally 'just plug-and-play'.
After switching on Bluetooth and synchronising the device to my BlackBerry, it allowed me to answer or reject calls, or put a call on hold by simply tapping the device lightly.
Once I switched on Bluetooth, it immediately recognised the device, and connected automatically.
The power switch is tucked neatly behind the device's ear hook, but is difficult to reach when making a call. Also, the device's main button is completely part of the device itself, so if pressed accidentally, it hangs up calls.
I recommend Jabra EasyGo to users who are looking for a minimum-frills device that lets users make hands-free calls whether in the office, a busy shopping mall or driving.
The device can be purchased from Jabra's Web store, but unfortunately is not yet available in South African retail outlets.
