The Targus Bluetooth Keyboard is a compact, keyboard that was designed for typing on an iPad.

The keyboard is well suited to users like myself, who are mobile, constantly on the move and need to access and write-up e-mails and documents on the fly.

The device uses Bluetooth to connect with an iPad device, and, putting it to the test, the keyboard did this effortlessly, within seconds.

User-friendly

The Targus Bluetooth Keyboard does everything one would expect from a keyboard of its type, and is small enough to fit into a handbag alongside an iPad. It was a pleasure to type on and effortlessly registered fast typing speeds without any lag.

However, I did find the keyboard was rather noisy when typed on, particularly when used in an office or classroom setting, producing a loud 'clacking' noise whenever a button was lightly pressed.

In Summary

Pros: Compact, pleasant to type with, excellent battery life
Cons: Noisy
Rating: 8/10
Price: R481
Weight: 430g
Dimensions: 28.5x12x2cm
Connectivity: Bluetooth

One of the biggest advantages of the wireless keyboard is its impressive battery life. The device claims it can offer seven months' of battery life with continuous use before being replaced. A small light indicates when the battery, which is located at the back of the keyboard, needs to be replaced.

The keyboard is ergonomic and is built at a slight tilt for ease of use and comfortable typing. The buttons are large enough for most users, without sacrificing on keyboard size.

It also has Apple-specific keys and shortcuts built in for the iPad. This makes navigating between apps on an iPad seamless, without having to touch the iPad's touch-screen.

In a nutshell

The Targus Bluetooth Keyboard was created with simplicity in mind, and delivers what it promises - it's easy to use, fast, compact and accurate.

All in all, it is a pleasure to use and makes typing on an iPad much easier and much faster than typing directly onto an iPad's touch-screen.
