Select customers who take part in the trial will use BlackBerry smartphones equipped with a microSD NFC device.

To take part in the trial, customers need to have a BlackBerry Curve 8520 or 8530, BlackBerry Tour 9630, BlackBerry Bold 9000, 9650 or 9700 and an active Bank of America Visa debit card or MasterCard credit card.

GottaBeMobile says leaks of new GSM and CDMA BlackBerry models reveal RIM's aggressive plans for the mobile payment market, which would allow users to use their BlackBerry smartphones to pay for physical goods.

According to BGR, payments can be made whereverMasterCard's PayPass is accepted. The trial is expected to become active during the second quarter of 2011.
