Rittal's Modular Safe provides IT infrastructure with reliable and flexible protection, is fully compatible with Rittal's TS IT rack, and effectively shields servers from physical threats. The Modular Safe can be upgraded using a variety of accessories to create an extremely tough resistance class four security room.
For the protection of business-critical core processes, Rittal offers the Modular Safe. The enclosure system creates a complete security zone around the server rack, providing a safe haven for 42 U or 47 U hardware, and is equipped with the latest TS IT server rack. Its modular design is ideal for installation in confined spaces.
An additional feature is the cable inlets in the side panels. If required, these can be provided with larger-than-standard diameter plastic tubing. This is recommended for water inlet and return flow, for example, when using climate control devices with Rittal Liquid Cooling Packages (LCP).
Cable entry holes are easily sealed, and additional cables can be inserted at a later date. The existing 90-minute fire protection guarantee (compliant with DIN 4102 (F90)) is consistent with previous models. In the event of fire, the interior temperature of the Modular Safe will not rise by more than 50 Kelvin within the first 30 minutes, and relative humidity will remain below 85%.
The Modular Safe is also resistant to dust and powerful water jets (IP 56) and is available with up to class four burglar resistance (tested in line with DIN EN 1627). Fumes and smoke, as generated after extinguishing a fire in the vicinity of the Modular Safe, will not penetrate the enclosure. All tests were performed and confirmed by accredited organisations.
The Modular Safe is available as an end-to-end solution, including 482.6mm (19-inch) server racks and a variety of climate control devices. Up to four safes can be connected via the cable inlets in the side panels. It is also possible to use existing server racks with the Modular Safe. The enclosure now features baffle plates that divide the interior into hot and cold zones, ensuring efficient airflow in the Modular Safe and aiding cooling. All components are preconfigured for faster installation. The TS IT server rack has been designed so that no tools are required when inserting elements into the enclosure, saving time.
Options and extras are modular and freely combinable. There is a wide choice of add-ons, such as the Rittal Computer Multi Control III (CMC III) monitoring system and a variety of climate control solutions, including Rittal LCP. Also available is a range of locking mechanisms, the DET-AC Plus fire detection and extinguishing system, the intelligent Power Distribution Unit and the Power System Module.
