Rlg promotes ICT training

The programme was initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology and the Ministry of to promote teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science at the primary, junior and senior high school levels in the country.

According to Modern Ghana, rlg Communications, which is the key private sector partner of the initiative, is distributing 1 500 laptops nationwide to underscore the practical implementation of the project.

The government-sponsored scheme also involves the training of teachers in ICT at the rlg Institute of Technology.

GhanaWeb reports that Kofi Safo-Kantanka, regional director of education, paid tribute to the Ministries of Education and Environment, Science and Technology for the initiative, which he said would go a long way to upgrade the skills of educators in teaching ICT.

He expressed gratitude to rlg for training the teachers, as well as for the prompt delivery of the computers, and urged the heads of the beneficiary schools to regularly maintain the facilities to prolong their lifespan and sustain the ICT programme.
